White Oak's economic development efforts are led by the White Oak Economic Development Corporation (WOEDCO), created in 1995 when White Oak citizens approved a 1/2 cent sales tax to fund local economic development. In partnership with the City of White Oak. WOEDCO employs a full-time executive director who coordinates White Oak economic development activities.
WOEDCO exists to promote local community and economic development. WOEDCO fulfills this mission by encouraging new capital investment, thereby helping to create jobs, and by establishing business retention, expansion and relocation programs. Available economic development incentives include interest-free loans, workforce training programs, and grants for relocation, job creation and land and equipment purchases.
Partnering with WOEDCO to provide economic development assistance are the City of White Oak, White Oak Independent School District, Gregg County and local utility companies and industries. |
